Crop Circle is an extraterrestrial vegan eatery which would be located in a place similar to downtown Tulsa or Austin. Crop Circle is an intentionally skewed take on what people would expect a vegan restaurant to look like. The name of the restaurant derived from the idea that life on other planets are envious of the ingredients the Earth is capable of producing, which is why the logo depicts a spaceship stealing a carrot. The branding design for Crop Circle was informed by my exploration of a range of unconventional materials. With silver metallics, holographic paper, and iridescent cellophane, the collateral engenders a feeling of other-worldliness. The type is minimal and scientific, both to allow the materials to shine and to further convey the extraterrestrial attitude; and the symbols next to the course descriptions are intended to translate the menu to alienese.
